Getting started
How do I start an exercise session?
Open the app and tap the large Start button on the home screen. It will run your active routine. You can change the active routine by tapping the pill at the bottom of the home screen.
How do I create a custom routine?
Tap the routine pill at the bottom of the home screen, then tap Create a new routine. Pick your exercises, give the routine a name, and save it. You can drag to reorder and set it as your default.
How do I set up daily reminders?
Open the Dashboard tab. Tap Schedule on the reminder card to open the reminders screen, then choose the days and time that suit you. Notification permission is requested during onboarding — if you skipped it, enable it in iPhone Settings → Notifications → IrisVault.
Subscriptions & purchases
What does IrisVault Pro include?
Pro removes all banner ads and helps support independent development. All exercises, routines, reminders, articles, and symptom tracking are available on the free tier.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — both the monthly and annual subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel at any time in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
What is the Lifetime option?
A one-time purchase that gives you Pro access permanently, with no recurring charge. It covers all future updates to the app.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → IrisVault and tap Cancel Subscription. Apple manages all billing — I am unable to cancel or refund on your behalf.
Restoring purchases
If you reinstall the app or switch to a new iPhone, your Pro status will restore automatically when you sign in with the same Apple ID. You can also tap Restore purchases at the bottom of the paywall screen to trigger this manually.
If restoring does not work, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase, then try again. If the issue persists, contact me at support@steplan.app.
Reminders & notifications
My reminders are not showing up.
Check that notifications are enabled in iPhone Settings → Notifications → IrisVault. In the app, open the Dashboard tab and tap Edit on the reminder card to confirm at least one schedule is active. Quiet hours or low-power mode may also delay delivery.
I accidentally denied notification permission.
Go to iPhone Settings → Notifications → IrisVault and turn on Allow Notifications. The app will use the permission immediately — no restart required.
Can I snooze a reminder?
Yes. Long-press or swipe the notification to reveal actions: Snooze 15 min, Skip, or Start exercise.
Data & account
Where is my data stored?
All exercise history, symptom check-ins, and routines are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you enable iCloud, Apple syncs this data end-to-end encrypted across your devices. I never have access to it.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings → Delete all local data inside the app. This permanently removes all stored exercise sessions, routines, reminders, and check-ins from your device.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete account inside the app. This removes your Sign in with Apple record and all local data.
Troubleshooting
The app is not responding or behaving unexpectedly.
Force-close IrisVault (swipe up from the app switcher) and reopen it. If the issue continues, try restarting your iPhone. Make sure you are running the latest version of IrisVault from the App Store.
Exercises animations are not playing smoothly.
If you have Reduce Motion enabled in Accessibility settings, animations are intentionally simplified. To restore full animations, go to iPhone Settings → Accessibility → Motion → Reduce Motion and turn it off.
My symptom chart is not showing.
The symptom trend chart requires at least two completed check-ins to display. Check-ins are offered every 14 days. Complete a second check-in and the chart will appear in the Dashboard tab.
Request a refund
All purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Select the IrisVault transaction and follow Apple's refund process.
I am unable to issue refunds directly, but if you are having trouble with a purchase please contact me and I will do my best to help.
Email me and I'll get back to you within 1–2 business days.
